Fans of the Avatar universe will soon have a physical copy of the recent animated film, "Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender." Paramount Plus and Alliance Home Entertainment have announced that the movie will be released on DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K Ultra HD formats. Pre-orders for the physical media are now available.

The film initially premiered on Paramount Plus on July 24, 2026, and garnered a largely positive reception, holding a 90% critic score and a 99% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. Despite critical acclaim, the film's initial release was overshadowed by a significant leak where the entire movie was uploaded to X in April following a reported hack.

While Paramount had previously indicated an exclusive streaming release, some hoped the leak might prompt a theatrical run. However, the film only saw a very limited theatrical engagement. The upcoming physical release aims to offer fans a more traditional way to own the movie, a move that is not always guaranteed for titles released directly to streaming services.

The "Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender" Blu-ray and DVD editions are scheduled for release on November 3, 2026, with the 4K Ultra HD version set to launch on February 9, 2027.

This physical release is part of a broader resurgence of Avatar content. In addition to the film and the "Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game," a new animated series titled "Avatar: Seven Havens" is slated to premiere on Paramount Plus next month. This series will serve as a sequel to "The Legend of Korra," focusing on Avatar Pavi, a young Earthbender in a post-apocalyptic setting. "Avatar: Seven Havens" is scheduled for October 9, 2026, with an order for two seasons, each containing 13 episodes. Following a considerable gap since "The Legend of Korra" concluded in 2014, 2026 marks a significant year for new Avatar releases.
