A recent stream of Baldur's Gate 3 by Larian Studios' senior communications director, Aofie Wilson, was temporarily removed from platforms including YouTube and TikTok due to an unexpected failure of the game's streamer-friendly mode. The incident occurred during Wilson's playthrough of the Dark Urge origin, specifically within Act 3's House of Hope.
During a scene featuring the character Harleep, an incubus in service to Raphael, the game's built-in censorship for intimate content malfunctioned. Instead of obscuring sensitive areas, Harleep's visuals remained uncensored as Wilson's character engaged in a scene with the character. This unintended display led to the stream's interruption and subsequent removal from the platforms. The malfunction occurred around the 1:26:00 mark of the archived stream on X, where staff attempted to cover the visuals with a golden d20, the reward for completing an honor mode playthrough.
While Larian Studios and publishing director Michael Douse acknowledged the incident with humor on X, with Douse posting "Baldur's Gate 3 is now cancelled," the developers were not permanently banned from the streaming platforms. Both YouTube and TikTok have since had Wilson's streams restored. The specific broadcast that experienced the issue was shut down, though Wilson reportedly remarked, "At least we had a nice time."
