Battlefield 6's Redsec battle royale experience is set to receive a new mode called Rapid Royale, which appears to be heavily influenced by Call of Duty: Warzone's popular Resurgence mode. This addition signals a continued effort by Battlefield Studios to integrate elements from its competitor into its own offerings.
Rapid Royale, much like Warzone's Resurgence, will feature smaller maps designed for quicker engagements compared to Redsec's main battle royale mode. The mode will also allow for respawning after death, a key feature of Resurgence that contributes to a faster overall pace and more frequent combat encounters. To further accelerate the gameplay, Rapid Royale will include a reduced player count and faster-moving in-game circles, pushing players together more rapidly and ensuring matches conclude in a shorter timeframe.
This new mode is slated for inclusion in Battlefield 6 and Redsec's upcoming Season 5. While a specific release date for Season 5 has not yet been announced, the current Season 4, titled Tidal Strike, will begin its final stage on September 15th. Tidal Strike will introduce proximity chat as a new feature, initially available only in the battle royale modes, with plans to expand it to the wider Battlefield 6 multiplayer later on. The recent Season 4 update also brought significant changes to Battlefield 6, including the introduction of naval combat, the game's largest map to date, a Top Gun collaboration, two-seater jets, and a revamped Carrier Assault mode.
Season 5 is tentatively targeting a winter 2026 release and is expected to introduce three new maps to the game, alongside other unconfirmed additions.
