Bethesda Game Studios has officially confirmed that Fallout 5 is currently in preproduction. This announcement comes as the studio continues its primary focus on the development of The Elder Scrolls 6. Both of these highly anticipated titles are being built using an updated version of the Creation engine, refined following the launch of Starfield.

In addition to news on future installments, Bethesda also revealed that remasters of Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas are in development. While no specific release dates have been provided for these remasters or for Fallout 5, the confirmation signals a busy period ahead for the studio and a renewed focus on the beloved Fallout franchise.

The studio's increased communication follows recent mass layoffs within Microsoft's gaming divisions, suggesting a directive for greater transparency regarding upcoming projects.
