Hideo Kojima's upcoming action-espionage game, Physint, will feature horror star Bill Skarsgård in the lead role. The announcement was made during Xbox's Tokyo Game Show 2026 showcase, providing the first substantial update on the project since its move from PlayStation to Xbox.
Kojima Productions shared the news alongside a new look at their horror title OD – KNOCK. Skarsgård, known for his roles as Pennywise in It and Count Orlok in Nosferatu, will lead the cast of Physint, described as a spiritual successor to the Metal Gear Solid series.
In a statement released on Kojima Productions' website, Kojima expressed his enthusiasm for casting Skarsgård. "I’m delighted to confirm the lead role for Physint will be Bill Skarsgård," Kojima said. "We are both long-time fans of each other’s work, and we’ve decided to embark on this new adventure together. The costume fittings, scans, and camera tests we conducted with Bill and Charlee earlier this year gave me tremendous confidence in the direction of the project."
Skarsgård joins previously announced cast members Don Lee, Minami Hamabe, and Charlee Fraser. Kojima indicated that casting and talent acquisition are ongoing, with the team continuing to progress on collaborations with external creators.
An Xbox Wire blog post highlighted that the collaboration with Kojima Productions extends beyond games, encompassing film and television projects. This broader partnership is notable given Kojima's previous excitement about working with Sony's Columbia Pictures for Physint's multimedia elements.
