The Blasphemy quest in Blood of Dawnwalker's prologue presents a significant choice that impacts the Blood Mass event later in the game. The quest begins when players find Gremla in Laslea, distraught over the theft of her tapestry, which she was weaving as a vampiric banner for the Knyaz.

Investigating the Theft

To begin the investigation, players must first speak with Gremla at her home. After this conversation, activating Focus Mode, typically by right-clicking, will reveal crucial clues. Players should inspect the weaving loom within Gremla's house, then examine the trail of footprints and cane marks outside the building. The trail culminates at a torn piece of tapestry, where a bloodstain can be spotted.

These findings lead the character Coen to deduce that the thief cut their hand during the act and walks with a cane. The next step involves searching the village of Laslea for an individual matching this description.

Identifying the Culprit

Within the designated search area in Laslea, three villagers are observed using canes. The player must identify Premysl, who resides in the house located at the most northeasterly point of the marked zone. He can typically be found sitting outside his home.

Premysl with a cane

Upon confronting Premysl and inquiring about his injured hand and cane, he confesses to taking the tapestry. He explains his motive was that the tapestry's depiction of a nightmarish scene was inappropriate for display in the church.

The Choice and Its Consequences

Players are then presented with two primary options regarding Premysl and the tapestry:

  • Convince Premysl to return the tapestry: This path involves selecting dialogue options that do not agree with Premysl's reasoning, avoiding choices like "Maybe you're right…". Reporting back to Gremla with the tapestry will reward the player with money and experience points. In the evening's Blood Mass event, the nightmarish banner will be displayed in the church, and villagers will react with visible horror.
  • Agree with Premysl and let him keep the tapestry: If the player chooses the dialogue option "Maybe you're right…", Premysl will keep the tapestry. As a reward for this decision, players will receive the Daylight Amulet. However, the consequence of this choice is dire: Gremla is killed and her body is hung in the church instead of the tapestry during the evening's Blood Mass.

While the Daylight Amulet is offered for siding with Premysl, the notes suggest that superior amulets can be found elsewhere in the game through looting and combat. Gremla is not presented as a critical character, and the impact of this decision appears to be confined to the prologue. Ultimately, the choice rests with the player's discretion.
