Blizzard has outlined the schedule and viewing details for the BlizzCon 2026 opening ceremony, marking the return of the convention after a two-year hiatus. The event will commence on September 12 and run for approximately 75 minutes, offering attendees and remote viewers a look into the company's future across its major franchises.
The opening ceremony can be accessed via livestream through Blizzard's official YouTube, Twitch, and Battle.net channels. The event is scheduled to begin at 10:30 AM PT, 1:30 PM ET, 5:30 PM GMT, 6:30 PM BST, 7:30 PM CET, and will also be available at 2:30 AM JST and 3:30 AM AEST on September 13, respectively.
While the opening ceremony and subsequent panels will be streamed, the headline musical performance by K-pop group Le Sserafim, as well as a performance by Yoasobi during the Overwatch World Cup halftime show, will be exclusive to in-person attendees.
Expectations for BlizzCon 2026 center on significant updates for Warcraft, StarCraft, Diablo, and Overwatch. Blizzard has hinted at StarCraft news, leading to speculation about a potential shooter title or developments from Nexon. Given that Diablo celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, a retrospective on the series' legacy games and a potential first look at a new Diablo 4 expansion are anticipated.
For Overwatch, Blizzard is expected to emphasize the game's competitive aspects, with potential reveals including a new playable hero and the conclusion of the current Reign of Talon storyline. A new World of Warcraft expansion, widely rumored to be titled 'The Last Titan,' is also a strong possibility, following BlizzCon's history of showcasing major WoW announcements. Additionally, a new version of WoW Classic may be presented, promising a substantial show for Blizzard fans to kick off the weekend.
