Activision has detailed the upcoming Season 5 Reloaded update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Warzone, scheduled to launch on August 20. The update will introduce new multiplayer maps, the conclusion to the Black Ops 7 Zombies storyline, and additional content across all modes.
New Content and Release Details
The Season 5 Reloaded update is set to deploy on August 20, with typical Call of Duty update times expected around 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET / 5 PM BST. This release precedes the first beta for the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, which begins the following day. The update includes new events and a final downloadable weapon for the season.
The "Last Call" event will celebrate the release of the final round-based Zombies map for Black Ops 7. This event offers rewards across Multiplayer, Zombies, Warzone, and Endgame, with both free and paid tracks. The free track features operator skins for Zaveri and Vermaak, while the paid pass includes skins for Zombies characters Nikolai and Richtofen, typically priced at $10.
Separately, the "Freerun: Descent Challenge" is a multiplayer-exclusive event focused on the new Freerun map, offering cosmetic rewards like camos and calling cards for participating in matches on Descent.
Multiplayer Additions
Season 5 Reloaded introduces two new multiplayer maps: Turbo Tilt and Descent. Turbo Tilt is a compact map designed for 2v2 and 6v6 modes, set within a Nuketown-themed pinball machine that features a moving pinball hazard. Descent is a new parkour course for the Freerun mode, divided into seven zones with multiple checkpoints.
The fast-paced "Cranked" mode, where players must continuously chain kills to avoid a countdown timer, will make its debut in Black Ops 7 as part of a moshpit playlist that also includes Team Deathmatch, Kill Confirmed, Hardpoint, and Demolition.
Zombies Conclusion and Perk Return
The Black Ops 7 Zombies storyline concludes with the "Rex Infernus" map. This map features an arachnid theme with new enemy types, including the "Deathspinner" and the elite "Web Mother," whose webbing can slow players and transform cocooned zombies into environmental hazards. The main story quest for Rex Infernus will launch with Season 5 Reloaded. The update also sees the return of the "Widow's Wine" perk from Black Ops 3, which can trigger a web explosion when a player is hit by melee attacks at low health.
Warzone and Endgame Content
Warzone's "Loaded Resurgence" limited-time mode will be available on weekends, allowing players to deploy with custom loadouts and earn perks through eliminations. This mode will rotate between Rebirth Island, Haven's Hollow, and Fortune's Keep. The update adds "Special Delivery Drones" that fly across Verdansk and Avalon in battle royale modes; shooting them down offers a chance to earn new weapon camos.
The "Burn Run" assignment, introduced at the start of Season 5, will continue to be available in Avalon for the remainder of the season. It was noted that "Endgame" will transition from being free-to-play to only being accessible to Black Ops 7 owners starting with Season 6.
