Season 5 of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Warzone, launching July 23, will introduce four new weapons to the games. Players can expect to unlock a new assault rifle, a pair of dual-wielding SMGs, a light machine gun, and a melee weapon.

Activision has confirmed that any weapon missed during its initial unlock window will be made available later in the Armory section of the Black Ops 7 and Warzone menus, where players can complete specific challenges to earn them. This system also applies to any previously missed weapons or loadout items from earlier seasons.

New Season 5 Arsenal

The FG42 assault rifle is described as a well-rounded, full-automatic weapon with balanced accuracy, mobility, and power. It can be unlocked as a High-Value Target (HVT) reward on page three of the Season 5 battle pass. The FG42 features 37 levels, a magazine size of 30, and can be equipped with various attachments including optics, muzzles, barrels, and stocks. Its prestige attachment, the MFS Ambilateral Stock, enhances recoil control at the cost of handling and mobility.

Joining the arsenal is the Gremlin, a full-auto, dual-wield submachine gun focused on high mobility and rapid close-range damage. Due to its akimbo nature, it lacks an aim-down-sights function. This weapon is available as an HVT reward on page six of the Season 5 battle pass. The Gremlin has 47 levels, a magazine size of 26, and a prestige attachment in the form of the 9" MFS Cestus Barrel, which adds spikes for melee attacks and improves movement speed.

The Mammoth, a full-auto light machine gun, boasts massive damage thanks to its twin reciprocating barrels, though this is balanced by a slower rate of fire and handling. It will be unlockable through an event scheduled to arrive later in the season. The LMG features 39 levels, a magazine size of 50, and a prestige attachment called the 14" MFS Cascade Barrel. This attachment reportedly removes pre-fire delay and movement penalties when firing, improving ADS movement speed, spread, and recoil, but increasing aim-down-sights time.

Finally, a Mace melee weapon will be added to the game. It is characterized by high damage and long range, but with a slow attack speed. This weapon can be unlocked by completing weekly challenge rewards during Season 5. Unlike the other new additions, the Mace does not feature a prestige attachment.

Season 5 Content Beyond Weapons

Beyond the new weaponry, Season 5 will also bring new multiplayer maps, including one set within a pinball machine themed around Nuketown. The Zombies mode will receive smaller maps at the season's launch, with a round-based map planned for a midseason update. For Warzone, the Heavy Metal Heroes limited-time mode is set to return to the battle royale. The Season 5 battle pass will also feature the return of Spectre, a character previously seen in Black Ops 3 and 4.
