Capcom is significantly expanding its presence on the Nintendo Switch 2, with a slate of major titles set to launch this fall. During the recent Nintendo Direct presentation, the company confirmed that both Monster Hunter Wilds and the remakes of Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 4 will be available on the new console.
Monser Hunter Wilds is slated for release on the Nintendo Switch 2 on December 4. This port will feature the series' signature local wireless co-op for up to four hunters, alongside online full cross-play support. The timing of the Switch 2 release suggests it may align with the game's major 2027 "Ascendance" expansion, potentially indicating simultaneous releases across all platforms for future content. Historically, the Monster Hunter series has had a strong connection with Nintendo hardware, with Monster Hunter Rise originally developed as a Switch exclusive.
Furthermore, the acclaimed Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 4 remakes are scheduled to arrive on the Switch 2 on October 16. These releases will include all previously released content, such as the "Separate Ways" campaign for Resident Evil 4. With Capcom having already brought Resident Evil Requiem, Resident Evil 7, and Resident Evil Village to the console earlier this year, this brings the entire modern RE Engine lineup of Resident Evil games to the Nintendo Switch 2. Resident Evil Veronica is also anticipated for early 2027.
These upcoming titles add to an already substantial year for Capcom on the Nintendo Switch 2. The publisher also has new releases like Pragmata and Onimusha: Warlords, as well as ports of Devil May Cry 5 and Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, still to come. This continued output positions the year as potentially Capcom's busiest ever for a Nintendo console.
