Developer byteparrot has announced Carveout 2160, an extreme-action snowboarding game set in space that draws heavy inspiration from the beloved SSX Tricky.
The game aims to fill a long-standing void in the snowboarding genre by replicating the fast-paced, trick-heavy gameplay of its predecessor. Trailers showcase fantastical tracks adorned with neon lights, featuring half pipes, rails, and ramps designed for elaborate stunts. The core mechanics emphasize tricks, combo systems, and the strategic use of boost.
Carveout 2160 positions itself as a "snowboarding game centered around the most dangerous competition in the universe." According to its Steam description, landing risky stunts earns players boost, which can be used to access shortcuts, disrupt opponents, or propel themselves towards the podium. The game also incorporates unique mechanics such as rail sliding and the ability to use gadgets like grappling hooks and rocket thrusters to gain an advantage.
Multiplayer will be a key feature, with support for local split-screen play for up to four players and online multiplayer for up to eight participants.
Carveout 2160 is currently available to wishlist on Steam. A release date has not yet been announced.
