Konami has announced that service for Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls will be terminated on September 3, 2026, effectively rendering the mobile game permanently unplayable. This follows the game's delisting from Apple Arcade on August 20, 2026.

The publisher stated on the official Grimoire of Souls website that the decision to end service was made after the game "continued to be supported by many players" since its launch in September 2021. Konami expressed gratitude for the players' support over the years.

Following its removal from Apple Arcade, players will have a two-week window to access Grimoire of Souls before the servers go offline. The game's premise involves players exploring books chronicling the history of Dracula's castle, with each book serving as a series of levels that also introduce iconic characters from the Castlevania franchise. Its gameplay closely resembles traditional 2D Castlevania titles, enhanced by cooperative and multiplayer modes. As an Apple Arcade exclusive, Grimoire of Souls notably features no in-app purchases.

There is a hope among fans that Konami might re-release Grimoire of Souls as a single-player experience on modern platforms, similar to actions taken by other publishers with their formerly-serviced titles. The game's core mechanics are considered to align well with the standard Castlevania formula, even without its multiplayer components. Meanwhile, Konami is preparing to launch Belmont's Curse, the first new Castlevania title in over a decade, scheduled for release on October 15.
