Crimson Desert has received a substantial update that significantly reworks its in-game economy, introducing a simulated supply and demand system and adding 133 new trading posts. The patch, detailed on Pearl Abyss's website, aims to provide a more dynamic trading experience for players.
This overhaul includes rebalancing the types and quantities of goods available at all trading posts. The new mechanics directly influence prices based on player actions, meaning that selling too many items in one location will lower local prices. Conversely, trading at remote locations, described as difficult to reach by wagon, will yield higher profits. General trade profits have also been increased, and 24 new types of high-value goods have been added for players to trade.
The update has drawn mixed reactions online, with some players expressing surprise and excitement about the expanded trading system. "I'm actually baffled," one Reddit user noted, suggesting that wagon trading had previously seen limited engagement. Another user replied, "Probably because it was a shitty system. Now I'm excited!" This direction aligns with developer Pearl Abyss's history, particularly with Black Desert Online, a game known for its extensive trading and crafting systems.
Beyond the economic changes, the patch also addresses several minor issues. Previously bugged challenges are reportedly now completable, and improvements have been made to interaction animations for various animals, including the platypus and the feathered weasel.
