Pearl Abyss is preparing to launch the first downloadable content for Crimson Desert, titled "Charting The Unknown," on October 15. This expansion will bring a host of new maritime activities and story content to the open-world action-adventure game, available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
The "Charting The Unknown" DLC promises to enrich the player experience with features such as underwater diving and naval combat, as showcased in a trailer revealed during a recent PlayStation State of Play. Players will be able to captain ships, engage in combat on the high seas, and explore ocean environments, with one trailer segment depicting the protagonist, Kliff, accompanied by a shark companion.
Beyond the new aquatic gameplay, the DLC will also incorporate the game's existing base-building mechanics, allowing for the creation of beachside structures. The narrative will advance following the events of the base game, introducing new bosses, weapons, and armor kits for players to discover as Kliff, Oongka, and Damiane embark on a new journey across Pywel.
Crimson Desert has seen consistent post-launch support since its release in March. Developer Pearl Abyss has been actively refining the game through narrative patches, removing AI-generated art, and adding cross-save functionality. An "Enhanced Version" was also released last month, leading up to this first major DLC offering.
