Dead by Daylight players are uninstalling the game and requesting refunds in protest following a controversial decision by a Behaviour Interactive employee to gift all available downloadable content to a divisive streamer known as TheBurntPeanut. The incident occurred during the streamer's Halloween livestream, sparking immediate backlash from the community.

The controversy ignited when an employee of Behaviour Interactive gifted TheBurntPeanut the complete suite of Dead by Daylight DLC. This gesture was met with dismay by fans, particularly given the streamer's controversial reputation. In response to the criticism, the employee reportedly stated, "We can take the heat! They are yours to keep," a comment that further exacerbated player dissatisfaction.

Players expressed frustration that many content creators have been awaiting approval for the official Creator Program, while controversial figures appear to receive preferential treatment and support from the developers. This perceived disparity led to long-time Dead by Daylight players uninstalling the game in protest.

Dead by Daylight Team Issues Apology

Following the swift community outcry, the official Dead by Daylight account released a statement. The developer clarified that the employee's actions were unauthorized and did not represent Behaviour Interactive's values. The studio apologized for disappointing the community and committed to reviewing internal processes to prevent similar incidents.

TheBurntPeanut has since addressed the situation, denying the accusations leveled against him during a Minecraft stream. However, for many in the Dead by Daylight community, the incident has already caused significant damage.
