The Gamescom Asia x Thailand Game Show attracted an estimated 219,546 attendees from 113 countries last week in Bangkok, marking what organizers are calling its "most international edition yet." The four-day event featured a keynote by Doom co-creator John Romero, titled ‘Why We Still Make Games,’ where he shared insights from his five-decade career. Panels also included discussions with members of Adhoc Studio, developers of the narrative game Dispatch, and Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babieno, who spoke about the success of their horror title Cronos: The New Dawn.

The showfloor hosted 470 titles from a range of developers and publishers, including Capcom, Bandai Namco Entertainment, SEGA, and Ubisoft. Among the showcased games were anticipated titles such as Final Fantasy VII Revelation, Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance, Stranger Than Heaven, and Total War: Warhammer 40,000.

New additions to the event this year included the pop culture festival ACE (Anima Asia Comics Content Entertainment Expo) and a performance of the event’s theme song by America’s Got Talent 2026 winner, Nene Royal. At the Thailand Game Awards, held during the show, Capcom’s Pragmata was named Game of the Year.

Mathias Kuepper, managing director and regional president, APAC for Koelnmesse, stated that the event's international reach signifies Southeast Asia's growing importance. "Exhibitors from 29 countries and regions came to Bangkok to sign deals, not only to show games," Kuepper said. "That tells the global industry that Southeast Asia is no longer a market to watch. It’s a market to be in, and this is where deals get done."

Organizers have confirmed that the Gamescom Asia x Thailand Game Show is scheduled to return to Bangkok from October 21 to 24, 2027.
