Sanctuary welcomes a new era with the release of Diablo 4 Season 14 on Tuesday, June 30. This season, titled "Season of Death Awakening," follows the launch of the Lord of Hatred expansion and introduces a new narrative arc focused on a shadowy Death Cult operating in Zarbinzet. Players will embark on the quest "A Gospel of Despair," starting in Kyovashad, to uncover the cult's origins and explore its connection to the ongoing story developments following the expansion's conclusion.

The season officially begins at 1 p.m. EDT on June 30. For those looking to dive in immediately, pre-downloading the patch 3.1.0 is available for players on Battle.net, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X. The release times vary globally, including 10 a.m. PDT on the west coast of North America, 2 p.m. BRT in Brazil, 6 p.m. BST in the U.K., 7 p.m. CEST in western Europe, 2 a.m. JST on July 1 in Japan, and 3 a.m. AEST on July 1 in eastern Australia.

Season 14 also presents an opportunity for players to experience the new Warlock class introduced in the Lord of Hatred expansion. From June 30 to July 7, players can create and level a Warlock up to level 30 without needing to own the DLC. Additionally, the season will feature an Overwatch collaboration, allowing players to earn special Overwatch currency to exchange for cosmetic items.

A significant shift in itemization arrives with Season 14: the removal of "Unique" as a distinct item rarity tier. Uniques will now function as modifiers that can be applied to Mythic items, enabling players to craft "Mythic Unique" gear by incorporating Unique affixes into existing Mythic pieces. This change aims to provide more flexibility in build design, moving away from requiring specific Unique items to form an entire build.
