Dave & Buster's is undergoing a radical transformation, embracing the villainy of Dr. Doom for an extensive promotional campaign leading up to the release of Marvel Studios' "Avengers: Doomsday." Starting November 16, select locations will be renamed "Doom & Buster's," featuring dedicated "Doomsday Zones" filled with Marvel-themed arcade games, new menu items, and exclusive prizes.
Jeremy Tucker, chief marketing officer at Dave & Buster's, stated, "When one of the biggest movies of the year is coming, you don't put up a poster. You bend the knee." He added, "We gave Doom our name. We gave him the floor. We gave him the bar… All shall play."
The promotion introduces several new Marvel-themed activities, including MARVEL Cosmic Invasion, Avengers: Roller Race & Battle, Human Crane, Mystery Crane, Thor's Hammer Strike, The Arena, and Smash N Win, alongside an Avengers-themed photo booth. MARVEL Cosmic Invasion, a four-player tag-team beat 'em up that was previously released on PC and consoles, will also receive an arcade cabinet treatment as part of this event. A new Doom-themed DLC for the game, 'The Siege of Castle Doom,' is slated for release on November 10 and is expected to be featured in the arcade.
Guests can find an array of Marvel-specific collectibles within crane games, including new inflatables and an Avengers Funko pusher. Kiosks will offer new Avengers-themed prizes, such as Collectible Power Cards. During random "DOOMHOUR" events, customers will receive double tickets on green swipe games. D&B Rewards members will receive a 24-hour advance notice of DOOMHOUR and access to new Rewards Challenges.
Themed beverages are also available at the bar, including alcoholic options like the Doomsday's Dominion, Multiversal Mule, and Fantastic Flight, as well as mocktails such as Panther's Potion and Captain's Punch.
This collaboration is part of a broader marketing effort for "Avengers: Doomsday," which has seen Marvel partner with various brands including KFC and MLB. Lylle Breier, EVP of Partnerships, Promotions and Events at The Walt Disney Studios, commented on the Dave & Buster's initiative, noting that it "transformed their entire business into an immersive celebration... The result is a bold, fan-first experience that extends the story beyond the theater and into the real world."
"Avengers: Doomsday" is scheduled to be released in theaters on December 18.
