Despite Vegeta's prominent role in the Dragon Ball franchise, his mother has remained an unseen and unnamed character until now. New artwork from Dragon Ball Super artist Toyotarou has given fans their first glimpse of the Saiyan royal, albeit obscured.

The artwork was created to celebrate the popularity of a Dragon Ball Super manga cover, which featured Goku's family reflected in a puddle. Toyotarou replicated this concept for Vegeta's lineage, showing King Vegeta, Vegeta, and his brother Tarble. Partially hidden behind King Vegeta's cape is a "mysterious figure" that, based on the family pairing, is widely understood to be Vegeta's mother.

Toyotarou acknowledged the challenge of composing the artwork, noting that he aimed to "preserve the secrecy" of this particular character. The pairing of matriarchs on the manga cover—Chi-Chi with Gine and Videl with Chi-Chi—suggests that Bulma would be the counterpart to Vegeta's mother in the new illustration.

Little is known about Vegeta's mother beyond her status as the Queen of the Saiyans before Planet Vegeta's destruction by Frieza. Her appearance in the artwork consists of a partial view of her outfit and hairline, including what appears to be a crown.

The Dragon Ball Super manga is currently on hiatus following the passing of creator Akira Toriyama in 2024. While a one-shot was released in 2025, official updates regarding the manga's return have not yet been provided. However, new Dragon Ball Super anime content, including The Galactic Patrol series and a Beerus reboot, is slated for release this year.
