Gameplay footage from what appears to be EA Motive Studio's Iron Man game has surfaced online. The circulating video offers an early glimpse at the project, reportedly showcasing Iron Man in action, a S.H.I.E.L.D. helicarrier, and other recognizable Marvel elements.
The footage, which seems to be from an early development build and potentially part of a trailer, depicts Iron Man flying through city streets and engaging armored adversaries. It also includes scenes of Tony Stark working on suit technology, suggesting the game may feature global travel for players. If authentic, the leak would indicate that rumors of the game's cancellation are unfounded.
This is not the first time footage from an unreleased Iron Man game has appeared online this week. Earlier, video surfaced for a different project, an Iron Man game from Avalanche Studios that was rumored to be in development in the early 2010s before its cancellation. However, nothing suggests EA's Iron Man project will face a similar fate.
EA Motive officially announced its Iron Man title nearly four years ago in 2022. Since then, updates have been sparse, though in April 2024, the developer reassured fans that the game remained an "important priority." At that time, general manager Patrick Klaus stated, "In parallel, development continues to move forward on our Iron Man project, led by Olivier Proulx (Executive Producer) and Ian Frazier (Creative Director). The team made excellent progress this year, hitting a major internal milestone and laying a robust foundation for the journey ahead. Iron Man is an important priority for Motive, and I’m very proud of the work we’ve accomplished so far."
The recently leaked footage, though its capture date is unclear, implies steady progress behind the scenes. EA has declined to comment on the matter when reached.
