The Elden Ring Tarnished Pack DLC, released on August 28, 2026, introduces new starting classes, armor sets, weapons, and cosmetic skins for the spectral steed Torrent, available across all platforms. This content accompanies the launch of Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition on Nintendo Switch 2, which bundles the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC with the new Tarnished Pack. While the Tarnished Pack is included in the Switch 2 bundle, players on other platforms will need to purchase it separately.
New Starting Classes and Armor
The Tarnished Pack adds two new starting classes: Heavy Knight and Idus Knight. The Heavy Knight, a robust character wielding a Heavy Scimitar, begins at level 10 with stats favoring Strength. Their armor set can be acquired by selecting them as a starting class or purchased from the Isolated Merchant in the Weeping Peninsula. The Heavy Knight's weapon can be bought from the Nomadic Merchant located north of the Fort Haight West Site of Grace.
The Idus Knight, a more agile class wielding a Light Greatsword, starts at level 7 with higher Dexterity. Their armor set is available by choosing them as a starting class or by visiting the Nomadic Merchant north of the Bellum Church Site of Grace. The Idus Knight's signature weapon can be found beneath a tree north of the Liurnia Lake Shore Site of Grace.
Additional Armor Sets and Weapons
Beyond the starting classes, four additional armor sets and weapons are available. The Knight Leontiel armor set and weapon are obtained after defeating Starscourge Radahn. Upon defeating him, players can revisit his arena via the Starscourge Radahn Site of Grace, proceed north, and defeat the invading Knight Leontiel to claim their gear.
The Noble Broken Mask armor set requires the use of the Law of Regression Incantation. Players must travel to the Erdtree Sanctuary Site of Grace in Leyndell Royal Capital, proceed west, down stairs, and take an elevator. At a Marika statue, using the incantation will trigger an invasion by The Noble Broken Mask, with their armor set dropping upon defeat.
The Reverse-Bladed Sword can be purchased from the Twin Maiden Husks in Roundtable Hold. The Ritual Thrusting Shield is located on a corpse within the Caelid Colosseum, accessible by heading west from the Deep Siofra Well Site of Grace in Caelid.
The Reed Great Katana is found on a corpse atop a large mound of decaying matter north of the Fort Faroth Site of Grace in Caelid. Players can use Torrent's double-jump ability to ascend the mound.
New Torrent Cosmetic Skins
The Tarnished DLC also introduces three new cosmetic skins for Torrent. The Torrent Tree Sentinel skin is found in a chest in the throne room after defeating Godrick the Grafted, accessible from the Godrick the Grafted Site of Grace.
To obtain the Torrent Carian Silver skin, players should visit Ranni's Rise Site of Grace. Smashing the desk and books directly in front of the player will reveal a chest containing the skin.
The Torrent Funeral Night skin can be found southeast of the Hermit Merchant's Shack Site of Grace, near Leyndell Royal Capital. The skin lies beside a sword stuck in the ground.
