Keen Games has announced that its open-world survival-action RPG, Enshrouded, will receive its full 1.0 release on October 15th. The game has been available in early access since January 2024. This release date positions Enshrouded to launch approximately a month before the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6.
While many studios have adjusted their release windows to avoid the media and consumer attention surrounding Grand Theft Auto 6, Keen Games has opted to maintain its original schedule. A representative for Keen Games stated that despite AAA titles spending decades and vast sums on development, their Early Access title is ready for its full launch. Enshrouded currently holds a "very positive" rating on Steam, with nearly 48,000 reviews.
Enshrouded's gameplay has been described as a "multiplayer Skyrim," where players' groups are encouraged to feel like "the Fellowship of the Ring." The studio's decision to proceed with its October release date stands in contrast to other titles, such as Fable, which have seen their release dates postponed. Keen Games' confidence in its product is highlighted by this unswerving approach to its launch.
