Final Fantasy 14: Evercold has been delayed by approximately one month, with a new release date set for February 23rd, 2027. The delay was announced at Final Fantasy 14 Fest Fest in Tokyo. While the new date places the expansion close to the transition from winter to spring, February is still considered a winter month.

Alongside the revised release date, Square Enix premiered a cinematic trailer that will open the expansion. The trailer features a large, dragon-like ship that was previously teased.

The expansion's second new job, Zephyr, was also revealed. Zephyr is a physical ranged damage dealer that utilizes a crossbow and is accompanied by an avian familiar that assists in combat. This job appears to be designed for players who prefer to attack from a distance.

A preview was also shown for the Evangelion collaboration alliance raid, presented in the style of the original anime's post-credits teaser reels. This was met with personal frustration by one observer who noted the significant time investment required to reach this content in Final Fantasy 14's extensive history.
