Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, the concluding chapter of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy, will receive a new look during Gamescom's Opening Night Live event. Square Enix announced via X that the showcase, hosted by Geoff Keighley, will feature the new footage on Wednesday, August 25th, at 7 p.m. BST. Director Naoki Hamaguchi is slated to present, suggesting the presentation may offer more than a typical trailer.
Hamaguchi has previously stated that Revelation will provide a definitive conclusion to the trilogy's narrative, addressing fan concerns about potential epilogues. Speaking to Automaton, he clarified that the main game's story will be fully resolved. He also indicated that any future downloadable content would likely focus on untold stories of specific characters, similar to the Yuffie-focused Final Fantasy 7 Episode Intermission, noting a potential demand for such content.
The third installment in the Final Fantasy 7 remake series, Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, is scheduled for release in spring 2027. It is confirmed to be available on Nintendo Switch 2, PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Following the reveal of Revelation at Summer Game Fest 2026, both Final Fantasy 7 Remake and its sequel, Rebirth, have reportedly exceeded sales expectations, performing several times better than anticipated.
