Interest in the Final Fantasy 7 Remake series has surged following the recent reveal trailer for the upcoming "Final Fantasy 7 Revelation." Square Enix capitalized on this renewed attention with significant discounts for both "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" and "Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth" on Steam, which appear to have been met with strong player engagement.

Over the past weekend, "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" saw over 10,000 concurrent players on Steam, while "Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth" reached a peak of 6,751 players. These figures, while representing only a portion of the total player base, indicate a successful marketing push for "Revelation," the final installment in the Remake project.

The "Revelation" trailer showcased a vast open world, key story developments, and refined combat mechanics, promising to conclude Cloud and his companions' updated narrative as they confront Sephiroth. The game is slated for release in 2027 and is expected to feature a significantly larger scale and higher stakes than its predecessors.

Prior to the Summer Game Fest showcase, details about "Revelation" were scarce. It was known that Chadley, a recurring character, would return, potentially streamlining mini-game integration. Naoki Hamaguchi, the game's director, has also confirmed that the title has undergone extensive testing, with over 40 full playthroughs completed, and that its graphical fidelity will not be compromised despite its multiplatform release on platforms such as the PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox. The trailer's narrative blurb emphasized the escalating global conflict, with a meteor threatening the planet and monstrous guardians wreaking havoc, culminating in Cloud and his allies' final stand against Sephiroth.
