Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy Resonance, the upcoming HD-2D title, will receive an original soundtrack comprised of 120 songs. The soundtrack is scheduled for release on October 28, one week after the game's launch.
This extensive collection will span four CDs and includes 33 new tracks composed by Noriyasu Agematsu. These new compositions are intended to complement the 87 tracks originally featured in the mobile titles Brave Exvius and War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius. The full soundtrack draws from the legacy of the Brave Exvius series, enhancing the experience for players.
Notable track titles revealed include "Leviathanomachy," "Wickedness Afoot," "A Bloom in the Gloom of Shadows," "Break the Limit!," "He Who Shoulders Umbral Darkness," and "Overcome the Menace." For comparison, the digital soundtracks for Final Fantasy 10, Final Fantasy 7, and Final Fantasy 8 feature 89, 85, and 73 tracks, respectively, highlighting the significant volume of music included in Resonance.
Physical pre-orders for the Final Fantasy Resonance Original Soundtrack are now available in the EU, North America, and Japan. The game itself, described by Square Enix as an exploration of 'What if Final Fantasy had continued to push the limits of pixel art?', is set to release in October. It builds upon the success of HD-2D titles like Octopath Traveler and Triangle Strategy, drawing from Square Enix's experience with mobile games and aiming to deliver a compelling single-player experience.
