Confirmation arrived via a teaser posted on the official Sonic the Hedgehog X account on August 10, which hinted at the inclusion of a named location inspired by Green Hill, a signature area from the Sonic series. The accompanying Sega YouTube post, titled "HACKING Now: Sonic In For..t...", explicitly stated, "Sonic, have you heard of a 'Fortnite'? Looks like something is coming on August 20! Be prepared!" August 20 marks the launch date for Chapter 7 Season 4.
The Sonic teaser features an animation where Peely runs through a landscape resembling Green Hill, with Sonic the Hedgehog also appearing, potentially showcasing a new mythic item that allows players to adopt Sonic's speed and rolling abilities. During the teaser, clouds shaped like Tetris blocks, or Tetriminoes, were visible, corroborating earlier leaks and confirming the Tetris collaboration.
Further hints emerged from the official Fortnite Discord server, where a channel named "Hint Transmissions" has been sending "Lobby Hack" codes. According to leaker iFireMonkey, these codes will become usable after an in-game event and are expected to grant special abilities to players. One of the revealed Lobby Hack codes, "TakeYourHeart," is a direct reference to Persona 5, strongly suggesting a crossover with Atlus's acclaimed RPG series.
