Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 is set to feature "Sonic power hours," beginning Saturday, August 29. During these events, the Sonic sprite will appear more frequently in-game. Collecting these sprites will grant players increased sprint speed with every level up, allowing them to move faster.
These power hours are divided into two distinct periods on August 29. The first window will run from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. EDT on the East Coast of North America. For those on the West Coast, this translates to 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. PDT. In Brazil, the hours are 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. BRT, while the United Kingdom will experience them from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. BST. Western Europe can expect the event between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. CEST. In Japan, the first power hour will occur from 3 a.m. to 5 a.m. JST on Sunday, August 30, and for the east coast of Australia, it will be from 4 a.m. to 6 a.m. AEST on the same day.
The second set of Sonic power hours will take place later on Saturday, August 29, from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. EDT on the East Coast. West Coast players will have this opportunity from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. PDT. Brazil will have its second window from 10 p.m. BRT on Saturday to 12 a.m. BRT on Sunday. The U.K. will see the second set from 2 a.m. to 4 a.m. BST on Sunday, August 30, with Western Europe experiencing it from 3 a.m. to 5 a.m. CEST. Japan will have its second opportunity from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. JST on Sunday, August 30, and the east coast of Australia will have it from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. AEST on August 30.
Upon release, mastered sprites may also be usable as a back bling, according to the notes, and their in-game speed boost is described as enabling players to "run at the speed of sound."
