Fortnite's latest update, v41.30, has not only brought back The Simpsons and celebrated Spider-Man with new cosmetics and unvaulted Web-Shooters but also appears to be laying the groundwork for its next major season. Dataminers exploring the encrypted files introduced with this patch have discovered posters featuring well-known video game characters, leading to widespread speculation that Chapter 7 Season 4 will be themed around "Gaming Legends."
These "Gaming Legends" posters were found within the same file directory as assets for an upcoming story event, strongly suggesting their connection to the next season. The locker category for "Gaming Legends" already houses video game-themed cosmetics, further bolstering the theory. Based on these leaks and previous rumors, franchises such as Pac-Man, Tetris, Persona, Sonic, Kingdom Hearts, and Mega Man are anticipated to be featured.
While the posters initially fueled speculation, a concrete in-game clue has emerged. Players can now hear the recognizable intro track from Pac-Man at WonkyLand, a named location on the Battle Royale map. The audio cue can be found near the stone structure on the northeastern side of this Point of Interest.
This audio Easter egg serves as a direct tease from Epic Games, confirming the gaming-themed direction for the upcoming season. More such in-game teasers are expected to appear across the island in the lead-up to the season finale. The current Chapter 7 Season 3 is scheduled to conclude around Saturday, August 15, with the story event that will likely unveil more details about the upcoming season.
