FromSoftware has finally provided concrete details regarding a closed network test for its anticipated title, The Duskbloods. The playtest is scheduled to run from August 21st to August 24th, offering players their first opportunity to experience the game.

Participation in the network test comes with specific requirements. Prospective players must own a Nintendo Switch 2 console and maintain an active Nintendo Switch Online membership. The application period for the test will be strictly limited, opening on July 22nd at 3:00 PM BST and closing on July 28th at 2:59 PM BST. Those who successfully apply will be notified of their inclusion on August 7th at 2:00 PM BST. This application process is noted as being more complex and time-sensitive than in previous FromSoftware network tests.

The test sessions will be divided into specific windows to maximize server pressure and player grouping. These windows are as follows:

August 21st (Friday): 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM BST August 22nd (Saturday): 3:00 AM - 7:00 AM BST and 7:00 PM - 11:00 PM BST August 23rd (Sunday): 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM BST August 24th (Monday): 3:00 AM - 7:00 AM BST

FromSoftware has cautioned that participants should anticipate the presence of bugs and that game balance will not be finalized. The playtest will support up to eight players in online matches, and while the game has been confirmed as an online PvPvE experience, further details about final game modes and player counts remain undisclosed. The studio and publisher Nintendo have committed to providing more news in 2026, with the release window for the full game still uncertain and potentially extending into 2027.
