Developer Sucker Punch has announced a slate of new content for Ghost of Yotei, including a narrative expansion titled Echoes of Sekigahara, a roguelike-inspired survival mode called Most Wanted, and a Complete Edition of the game. The new expansion, Echoes of Sekigahara, will weave a story across present-day and flashback sequences, introducing a new character named Nagato, who is described as a figure from Atsu's past. Players will explore new locations, including a valley formerly inhabited by The Snake and his followers, the Vipers, in the present day, and participate in the Battle of Sekigahara in the past. The expansion also introduces new enemies, weapons, armor sets, and dyes.
The Most Wanted mode offers a single-player roguelike experience where players undertake bounties to initiate new runs. Success in these runs earns perks and unlocks additional playable characters. Early glimpses suggest Atsu will utilize dual katanas, Oyuki will wield a kusarigama, and Nagata will fight with a yari.
Alongside these additions, Sucker Punch is releasing the Ghost of Yotei Complete Edition for $70. This bundle includes the base game, the Echoes of Sekigahara expansion, the Most Wanted mode, and the online co-op Ghost of Yotei Legends. It also incorporates all content from the game's digital deluxe edition. The Complete Edition is available now, though the Echoes of Sekigahara expansion and Most Wanted mode are slated for release on October 1.
Players who purchase the Complete Edition by September 30 will receive the Sakai armor set, inspired by Jin's family armor from Ghost of Tsushima, on October 1. Existing owners of Ghost of Yotei can acquire the Echoes of Sekigahara expansion and Most Wanted mode by purchasing the Complete Edition upgrade for $15.
A new patch, also launching October 1, will introduce the "Beauty of Yotei" mode, a screensaver-like feature showcasing the game's environments. This patch will also implement quality-of-life updates, such as the ability to preserve an armor set's appearance while using the stats of another, and a new high-contrast accessibility option. Separately, a Ghost of Tsushima film is reportedly in development with John Wick director Chad Stahelski attached.
