Pokémon Go is set to feature Gible as the star of its September Community Day Classic event. This event offers a prime opportunity for players to encounter increased numbers of Gible, with boosted shiny rates and the potential to find one with perfect IV stats.

The Community Day Classic will take place on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM local time. During this period, Gible will spawn more frequently in the wild, and trainers will have an increased chance of finding a shiny variant.

Shiny Gible is characterized by a deeper blue hue with a yellow belly, while its evolutions, Shiny Gabite and Shiny Garchomp, are more subtly different from their standard forms. The Mega Garchomp, however, undergoes a more striking transformation, shifting to a hot pink and purple color scheme.

For those aiming for a perfect Gible, known as a 'Hundo' within the Pokémon Go community, the event is ideal for searching for a 15/15/15 stat spread. For players at Level 30 and above, a perfect Gible will have a Combat Power (CP) of 954 in the wild, or up to 1033 CP when weather-boosted.

A significant draw of the event is the return of Garchomp's exclusive Charged Attack, Earth Power. Evolving a Gible into Garchomp during the event or up to four hours afterward, by 9:00 PM local time, will grant Garchomp this powerful Ground-type move. Earth Power boasts 90 power for 50 Energy in Trainer Battles and 100 power for 50 Energy in Gyms and Raids. This makes Mega Garchomp a formidable Ground-type attacker, ranking as the second strongest. In PvP, Earth Power also carries a 10% chance to decrease an opponent's defense by 20%.

The optimal moveset for Garchomp generally includes Dragon Tail as a Fast Move, with Twister and Earth Power as Charged Moves, particularly for Master League where it performs strongly. Alternatively, for raids, Mega Garchomp can function as a top-tier Dragon-type attacker with Dragon Tail and Breaking Swipe, or as a potent Ground-type attacker using Mud Shot and Earth Power.

Beyond increased spawns and shiny chances, trainers can also benefit from Triple Catch XP during the event. Lure Modules will last for an hour when used between 2:00 PM and 9:00 PM local time. Incense will be effective for three hours if used during the main event window from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Encounters from Go Snapshot photobombs may also yield Gible.

A paid Special Research story will also be available for those who wish to partake.
