An ambitious mod for Grand Theft Auto 5, titled Open World Interiors, attempts to add explorable interiors to various businesses within Los Santos. However, installation of the mod has led to a drastic reduction in the game's open-world environment, with large portions of the map reportedly deleted.
The mod's stated goal is to furnish businesses such as restaurants and gyms with inhabitable indoor spaces, expanding the explorable areas of the game. While the mod does introduce these interior zones, the unintended consequence has been the disappearance of substantial exterior sections of the game's world.
Despite the map alterations, some interior locations are functional. Players can enter certain establishments, such as fast-food restaurants, where they may encounter NPCs. However, glitches persist, with attempts to enter locations like gyms resulting in the player character falling through the game world into a void, only to reappear outside the entrance.
