Footage purportedly from Grand Theft Auto VI has reportedly appeared online, marking another alleged leak of the highly anticipated title. The surfaced material includes several video clips and screenshots displaying what appears to be the in-game map of the game's setting, Leonida.
One video clip reportedly shows one of the game's protagonists, Jason Duval, engaged in an in-game basketball activity, with the interface indicating that the action contributes to a 'focus' stat. Another clip depicts a common Grand Theft Auto scenario: driving a damaged vehicle, leading to a collision and subsequent altercation.
The leaked screenshots, which suggest a complete map of Leonida, are attributed to a group identifying as Cyberleek. This group has outlined a series of demands for the video game industry, citing concerns including the digital-only release practices for titles like Grand Theft Auto VI and the status of games such as Ubisoft's The Crew.
Cyberleek's stated commandments call for an end to digital preorders, the discontinuation of releasing single-player downloadable content that is already present within the base game files, and the preservation of single-player games through patches that ensure offline playability. The group has warned that publishers who do not adhere to these principles will be targeted.
While the nature of these leaks is not considered substantially damaging to the game's overall reveal, they highlight ongoing concerns about game preservation and digital ownership. The reports also coincide with calls from former Rockstar employees for support in their legal disputes with the studio, suggesting avenues for player engagement beyond speculating on leaked content.
