Rockstar Games has confirmed that Grand Theft Auto 6 will feature six-star wanted levels, a return to a system that was present in earlier entries of the series but omitted in Grand Theft Auto V.

The confirmation came via a gameplay video shared on Netflix. While the exact actions required to reach a six-star wanted level remain unknown, it is expected to represent the most extreme criminal activities within the game. The trailer for GTA 6 also hinted at the introduction of icons that signify specific crimes players commit. For instance, an icon representing a car reportedly disappears when a player hides a vehicle in a garage, suggesting a more granular tracking of player actions.

Furthermore, the game's system will allow players to evade law enforcement by destroying security camera footage. The intensity of police response is also said to scale with player aggression; engaging in "guns blazing" tactics in certain areas will likely provoke a more forceful reaction from authorities. These changes suggest an evolution of the wanted system from previous installments.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is scheduled to launch on November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
