IllFonic, the developer behind Halloween: The Game, has seemingly removed a sex minigame from the title following the virality of a gameplay clip showcasing the activity. The game, an adaptation of the iconic slasher film franchise, allows players to engage in a closet-based minigame that, when a clip featuring the character Samuel Loomis and a young Lynda emerged, drew significant attention and likely prompted the developer's swift action.

Halloween: The Game launched its early access period over the weekend, with the full release scheduled for September 8. It wasn't long before players discovered a minigame involving characters hiding in a closet. If one player prompts another for intimacy while in a closet, a button-mashing minigame initiates. Successful completion results in a "Stronger Together" buff for both characters, though the act itself is not graphically depicted.

The controversial clip reportedly shows Samuel Loomis, the psychiatrist and antagonist of Michael Myers, engaging in this minigame with Lynda, who is depicted as a teenager within the game's narrative. Given that Loomis is portrayed as an adult and is based on the likeness of the late actor Donald Pleasence, the implication of him having sex with a minor character has been a major point of contention and speculation.

While IllFonic has not officially commented on the removal, the developer did release a hotfix shortly after the early access launch. This patch notes mentioned addressing crashes and other issues, but made no explicit mention of the sex minigame. The developer stated, "Today we are rolling out our first hotfix for Halloween: The Game. This patch is primarily aimed towards addressing several crashes that have been occurring as well as a small list of other issues that the team was able to implement with this hotfix." They also indicated a larger patch is in development.

In the wake of the minigame's apparent removal, some players have expressed disappointment, with discussions on platforms like Reddit questioning its disappearance. Some users have humorously suggested that the minigame might become a rare, early-access exclusive if it is not reinstated. The swiftness of the patch has led to widespread belief among the player base that the viral clip was indeed the catalyst for its removal.
