Hell Let Loose: Vietnam is inviting players to a free open beta playtest running through Monday, offering an early look at the upcoming expansion to the World War II military shooter.
Developed as a modern follow-up to the popular milsim Hell Let Loose, the Vietnam expansion aims to retain the series' focus on tactical, team-based 50v50 battles while introducing new elements like helicopter support. The game emphasizes historical accuracy and requires significant coordination among players, differentiating it from more arcade-style shooters.
Players can join the playtest by accessing Hell Let Loose: Vietnam on Steam and selecting the "join the playtest" option. The test is fully cross-platform, allowing participation on both PC and consoles. Instructions for console players are available on Steam, guiding them to find the playtest on the Xbox or PlayStation Store. For those on console, dedicated servers will be available to avoid potential disadvantages against PC players using mouse and keyboard. However, a PlayStation Plus or Xbox Game Pass Essential subscription is required for console access.
Developers have noted several known issues within the current build, including problems with voice chat, occasional performance stutters, and stability issues on some AMD graphics cards. Player feedback is actively sought through a playtest survey. Any progress, experience points, or unlocks earned during this playtest will not transfer to the full game.
The full release of Hell Let Loose: Vietnam is scheduled for August 13.
