Home Depot is set to unveil an enhanced version of its popular 12-foot Halloween skeleton, nicknamed 'Skelly,' for the 2026 spooky season. Since its debut in 2020, the towering decoration, distinguished by its LED eyes, quickly became a viral sensation, with TikTok videos showcasing Skelly in various costumes amassing tens of millions of views.
App-Enabled Enhancements
The new 12-foot Skelly will incorporate app-enabled features, allowing users to customize head and mouth movements and communicate through the decoration in real-time via Bluetooth. The system also includes optional voice-changing effects and supports 20 different LCD eyeball variants. Users can record and store up to 30 custom sounds, expanding the possibilities for interactive Halloween displays. This upgraded Skelly will be available for $379.
New Frightful Additions
Joining Skelly this fall are several new animatronic decorations. The 8-foot Perilous Plant Monster, priced at $299, features a three-headed design with long, bony fingers, and appears to have human remains integrated into its root-like limbs. This creation has been compared to a Resident Evil miniboss.
Also new for 2026 is the 5.5-foot Wicked Woods Animated LED Evil Pixie, retailing for $199. This animated pixie has moving mouth, wings, and eyes, accompanied by three spooky sound effects. Its design has drawn comparisons to characters from the Persona series.
While Halloween is months away, these new additions offer early opportunities for enthusiasts to plan their seasonal decor. The popularity of the 12-foot skeleton has also extended to year-round fashion, with Amazon offering a range of costumes for the decoration.
