A new BBC documentary, titled "Jared Leto: Hollywood's Dark Secret," presents accusations of criminal sexual misconduct from multiple women against the actor and musician. The documentary reportedly includes allegations of sexual assault and sexual encounters with individuals who were underage at the time of the incidents, with accounts spanning from 2002 to 2016. Leto's representatives did not respond to the BBC's requests for comment.

The film features testimonies from four women detailing alleged criminal behavior, alongside accounts from others who describe inappropriate remarks and actions directed toward young women and teenagers. One woman recounted an incident where Leto allegedly instructed a security guard to escort her backstage at a concert after making a lewd comment about her chest during an autograph signing. Her mother's confrontation with Leto reportedly resulted in him repeating the remark, at which point the woman was 14 years old.

More serious allegations detailed in the documentary include accusations from several women who stated they were minors during their alleged encounters with Leto. One woman accused him of sexual assault in a motel bathroom when she was 17. Another alleged she had sexual intercourse with Leto at his residence when she was also 17, which could constitute statutory rape under California law. A third accuser detailed being groomed through sexually explicit phone calls when she was 16, and later receiving a non-disclosure agreement from Leto, which she did not sign.

These new allegations follow a report from Air Mail approximately one year prior, which documented accusations from nine women concerning inappropriate behavior by Leto, described as "predatory, terrifying and unacceptable." At that time, a representative for Leto issued a statement to the outlet, "expressly denying" the women's claims and asserting they were "demonstrably false."

Leto recently appeared as the villain Skeletor in the summer film "Masters of the Universe." Despite a less-than-stellar box office performance, the movie recently became the most-streamed film on Amazon Prime. Before that, he starred in the long-delayed "Tron" sequel, "Tron: Ares." In 2022, he was also in the superhero film "Morbius," which gained notoriety for its critical reception and subsequent re-release.
