Luke Dale, the actor behind Hans Capon in the popular RPG Kingdom Come: Deliverance, is venturing beyond the digital realm to open a real-world medieval-inspired establishment in Prague. The bar, named Nobleman, aims to recreate the atmosphere of historical gathering places for nobility.
Dale described Nobleman as "inspired by the places where noblemen would gather and conspire and socialize." He emphasized that it is intended to be a local venue for quality beer and food, rather than a themed attraction. "Not a themed bar, not a tourist attraction, but a local space where local people can have a really good beer, amazing food, and a bloody great time," Dale stated in a YouTube video.
Despite having no prior experience in running a pub, Dale called the endeavor "a very terrifying thing," but also a long-held ambition. He found inspiration for the project in his deep appreciation for Prague and the Czech Republic, where he has lived and worked. "Ever since I moved to Prague and ever since I've worked in Prague, I've just been so humbled and so appreciative of this country," he explained. "And so for me, this project and creating this tavern is like a love letter to Prague. It's a love letter to the Czech Republic and how much I love this city and this country and everything that it's given me."
Dale further noted the personal connection to Czech culture, mentioning his Czech girlfriend and dog, and how much of his identity has been shaped by it. "The beer, the food, everything about it is stuff that I just adore and I want to be a part of it and contribute to it," he added.
The actor also commented on his career path, stating that while the success of Kingdom Come: Deliverance has not led to new gaming roles, he has shifted his focus to streaming. His existing online presence, with 180,000 YouTube subscribers and 73,000 Twitch followers, could provide ample content for his new venture. Nobleman is scheduled for its grand opening on October 1.
