A substantial leak, apparently originating from Steam, has reportedly revealed several of the worlds slated to appear in the upcoming Kingdom Hearts 4. Achievement lists for multiple games, including Square Enix's anticipated title, have surfaced on achievement-tracking sites, offering early glimpses into the game's content.
While only the world based on Pixar's Coco has been officially confirmed, the leaked data suggests players will visit destinations from one of Disney's largest intellectual properties: Star Wars. This marks a significant potential expansion for the Kingdom Hearts series, which has historically focused on Disney's animated and Pixar properties, alongside Square Enix's original creations.
This is not the first indication of Star Wars' inclusion in Kingdom Hearts 4. A previous trailer for the game featured imagery reminiscent of the forest moon of Endor and what appeared to be an All Terrain Scout Transport, vehicles and locations from The Empire Strikes Back. The exact era or specific characters from the Star Wars universe that Sora might encounter remain a subject of speculation.
Beyond the potential Star Wars world, dubbed 'Galaxy Far, Far Away' in the leak, other rumored locations include the Haunted Mansion, an 'Imagineer Planet,' the Land of the Dead (from Coco), 'Monochrome Origins,' Quadratum, the Savanna Central area from Zootopia, Scala ad Caelum, and the Toy Box from Toy Story. These selections represent a mix of established Disney franchises and original or abstract settings common in the Kingdom Hearts series.
Franchise co-creator Tetsuya Nomura has previously stated that Kingdom Hearts 4 is targeting a 2027 release. The game was initially announced in 2022, marking the return of Sora as the protagonist and introducing a new art style and narrative direction.
