Square Enix and Disney have unveiled a new trailer for Kingdom Hearts 4, showcasing a world inspired by Pixar's Coco and confirming a late 2027 release window. The game is set to launch on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X/S.

The 90-second trailer features Sora, rendered with Día de Muertos face paint, battling Heartless Shadows alongside Coco characters Miguel and Hector. Sora will also wield a Keyblade themed after the film, incorporating elements like guitars, sugar skulls, and marigolds. The trailer offers glimpses of Sora and friends in the new world of Quadratum, facing a giant Heartless invasion in their city, alongside brief dialogues from Mickey Mouse and a scene with Goofy and Hades.

In addition to the new game details, a Kingdom Hearts anime series is officially in development for Disney Plus and the Disney Channel. Creator Tetsuya Nomura and the Square Enix team are involved, promising a reimagined adventure with a new story that will expand the Kingdom Hearts universe. No release details for the anime have been provided.
