Lego and Sony have officially revealed a new building set that recreates the original PlayStation console. This follows Lego's previous releases of retro consoles like the Nintendo Entertainment System, Atari 2600, and Sega Genesis.

The Lego PlayStation set comprises 1,911 pieces and is priced at $159.99. It allows builders to construct the iconic PlayStation console and its controller. The set also features small dioramas that pay homage to key moments in the PlayStation's early history. A functioning "Open" button on the console build reveals two nostalgic dioramas inside: one is a large Lego rendition of the classic "PS" logo, and the other features scenes inspired by the games Gran Turismo and Ape Escape.

With 1,911 pieces, this set is larger than the Lego Sega Genesis (480 pieces) and the Lego Atari 2600 (2,532 pieces) and Lego Nintendo Entertainment System (2,646 pieces) were smaller than the Lego Atari 2600 (2,532 pieces) and Lego Nintendo Entertainment System (2,646 pieces). Lego's past video game console sets have included accessories such as a retro TV for the NES and multiple game cartridges for the Atari 2600.

The Lego PlayStation set is scheduled for release on October 1.
