Lego is venturing into the city-building genre with the announcement of Lego Skylines, a new title from Paradox Interactive and developer Iceflake Studios. The game promises a "cozy, customizable city-builder" where players can bring a metropolis to life, with Paradox stating there is "unlimited space" for creativity. The announcement trailer was revealed at Gamescom, showcasing a world constructed from Lego bricks.

Lego Skylines will task players with managing essential city services, such as hospitals and utilities, alongside resource management for citizen needs like food and waste. The developers emphasize player freedom, encouraging players to "stick your hard hat on and greenlight your weirdest ideas." This approach suggests a blend of Lego's charming aesthetic with the depth expected from a city-building simulation.

Interestingly, Iceflake Studios, known for its work on the troubled Cities: Skylines 2, is developing Lego Skylines. The studio took over development for Cities: Skylines 2 in late 2025. A release date for Lego Skylines has not yet been announced, but a Steam store page is now available.
