The first expansion for Little Nightmares 3, titled 'The Backstage,' has been released. Announced during last week's Summer Game Fest, this DLC offers players a new chapter in the series' signature dark and atmospheric horror. The Backstage is now available on Nintendo Switch 2, PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and previous-generation consoles.
In this new content, players will guide Low alongside Dime, a new character distinguished by a torch hat. This tool is described as essential for navigating the environments beyond the curtains of The Carnevale. Together, Low and Dime must confront new dangers and utilize their light to rescue Alone from the clutches of a new antagonist known as The Puppeteer.
'The Backstage' is accessible to those who have purchased the 'Secrets of the Spiral Expansion Pass,' or it can be bought as a standalone download. The price is £6.49 for console versions and £6.99 for the Steam version.
This release follows a recent update for Little Nightmares 2. The Enhanced Edition of Little Nightmares 2, originally released for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S in 2021, is now playable on the Nintendo Switch 2. Unlike previous platforms where owners of the original game received the enhanced version for free, the Nintendo Switch 2 version is the sole offering and is priced at £24.99.
Eurogamer's review of Little Nightmares 3, by Matt, awarded the game three out of five stars. He noted that while Supermassive's approach played it safe, leading to some familiar frustrations, the game's impressive artistry and mid-game improvements made for a compelling, albeit grim, adventure.
