A sequel to the cult zombie action game Lollipop Chainsaw is slated for its world premiere at Tokyo Game Show 2026, where attendees will have the opportunity to play a demo of the new title. Dragami Games, the studio behind the 2024 remaster, is developing the new game, which will be distributed in Japan and Southeast Asia by Sega.
The unveiling at Tokyo Game Show will include a playable demo at Sega's booth. Cosplayer PeachyMilky is also expected to appear at the event dressed as series protagonist Juliet Starling. The game's director, Mr. Nasu, and Hajime Tabata, CEO of JP Universe and former COO of Luminous Productions, are scheduled to participate in stage shows on Friday and Saturday to share further details.
This new installment marks the return of Juliet Starling more than a decade after the original game's release. However, key figures from the original development team, including Grasshopper Manufacture, the original developer, and original directors Suda51 and Tomo Ikeda, are not involved in the sequel. Dragami Games has stated that while some individuals from the first game's development will contribute, specific names have not yet been announced. The studio has also previously commented that the new game aims to honor the spirit of the original while avoiding "excessive creative restrictions in the name of DEI."
While details remain scarce, a promotional image for the sequel depicts Juliet in a more subdued letterman jacket, with zombie hands reaching towards her. The anime adaptation of Lollipop Chainsaw, also confirmed by Dragami Games, is also in development.
