CI Games has announced that Lords of the Fallen II has been delayed to 2027. The sequel, which is technically the third game in the series, was originally planned for release sometime this year.

In a development update, CI Games explained that the decision stems from close collaboration with the Gameplay Feedback Team, a group of experienced Soulslike players within their Launch Creative Team. Their input has led to the identification of opportunities to enhance the overall experience. The studio stated that these improvements will require additional time for integration, iteration, and polishing to ensure the highest possible quality at launch.

The revised release timing is also a strategic move to position Lords of the Fallen II outside of the typically competitive holiday season. CI Games believes this will allow the game to receive the dedicated attention it deserves. The 2026 holiday period is already expected to feature numerous major releases, with a particularly busy September and November largely dominated by Grand Theft Auto VI.

Lords of the Fallen II was initially revealed at Gamescom 2025. It serves as a direct continuation of 2023's Lords of the Fallen, itself a reboot of the 2014 title of the same name. The game previously faced controversy in 2025 due to remarks made by the studio's CEO and global marketing director regarding the game's "player-first" design philosophy.

The title is slated for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2, and PC.
