Otome game Love and Deepspace will not be introducing Valko, a planned new love interest, to its roster. Developer Infold announced in an official statement that "no additional love interests will be introduced in future content plans." Valko had been scheduled to debut on July 9 as part of the game's Version 6.0 update, titled "A Shattered Quiet." The character's impending addition had generated significant controversy among the game's Chinese fanbase.

"After reflecting on recent events, we recognize that we moved forward with the introduction of Valko before we were truly ready," Infold stated. The developer acknowledged falling short of player expectations, both for those who have supported the game since its launch and for those anticipating Valko's release. While Valko's introduction is canceled, Infold confirmed that other components of the Version 6.0 update, such as the Home 2.0 and AR Photobooth features, will still be released as planned. Rewards previously intended for the Valko-focused "Hunt In Linkon" event will be distributed to all players for free via in-game mail, alongside complimentary Deepspace Wishes.

Infold indicated that the development team will now concentrate on enhancing the stories and long-term companionship experiences for the game's five existing love interests. The studio will also maintain a steady pace for Main Story production and updates.

The decision to cancel Valko's release has prompted disappointment among segments of the North American Love and Deepspace community, where many players had expressed enthusiasm for the character on social media. A petition urging Infold to reconsider and release Valko on the game's global servers has garnered over 42,000 signatures. Love and Deepspace launched in January with three love interests: Rayfael, Xavier, and Zayne. Sylus was added in July 2024, followed by Caleb in January 2025. The game has achieved significant player numbers, with AppMagic reporting over 31 million downloads and user spending exceeding $1 billion as of May.
