Insomniac Games has released a new trailer for its upcoming PlayStation 5 exclusive, Marvel's Wolverine. The footage debuted ahead of Christopher Nolan's "The Odyssey" in select theaters and confirmed the appearance of several key Marvel characters, including Lady Deathstrike, Sabretooth, and a group of ninjas heavily implied to be The Hand.
The trailer showcases Wolverine facing considerable adversity. He is seen being launched into the air by an explosion and later landing face-first in the snow. His longtime adversary, Sabretooth, is depicted fighting alongside Wolverine, a detail previously discussed by the developers. The trailer also features Wolverine battling what appear to be ninjas before Lady Deathstrike enters the fray to confront him.
Lady Deathstrike, who shares Wolverine's adamantium skeleton, possesses extendable finger claws. This character previously appeared in the 2003 film "X2," portrayed by Kelly Hu, as an antagonist working for William Stryker. The trailer suggests a potential affiliation between Lady Deathstrike and The Hand, possibly positioning her as a leader within the organization in the game.
Beyond the new villains, the trailer also offered a glimpse of Jean Grey through a photograph. The image shows her and Wolverine in a seemingly intimate moment, hinting at a potential romantic subplot for the characters in the game. The photograph is shown burning, adding a dramatic element to their depicted connection.
Marvel's Wolverine is scheduled for release on September 15 and will be exclusive to the PlayStation 5.
