Marvel Studios has officially confirmed a significant portion of the cast for its upcoming X-Men movie, set to arrive in theaters on May 5, 2028. The studio made the announcements at D23 2026, revealing key roles including Inde Navarrette as Rogue, Adam Driver as the villain Mister Sinister, and Maya Boyd as Storm.
Other notable cast members revealed include Christopher Abbott as Professor Charles Xavier, Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Kit Connor as Cyclops, and Samara Weaving as Emma Frost. While some of these actors, like Connor and Weaving, had their casting previously rumored or announced, the D23 event served as an official confirmation.
Navarrette, known for her role in Obsession, takes on the mutant abilities absorber Rogue, dispelling earlier rumors that Cailee Spaeny would be cast in the part. Adam Driver, a veteran of the Star Wars franchise, will portray the formidable antagonist Mister Sinister, a role that had also been the subject of speculation. Maya Boyd, who has a less extensive filmography compared to her co-stars, is set to embody the powerful mutant Storm in what will be her largest role to date. Her previous work includes the short film Deadbeat and various Broadway productions.
Christopher Abbott, recognizable from films such as Poor Things and Possessor, will lead the mutant team as Professor X. Sadie Sink's casting as Jean Grey is particularly noteworthy, as she recently appeared as the character in the box-office hit Spider-Man: Brand New Day, marking her prior on-screen debut within the MCU.
Director Jake Schreier, who also helmed Thunderbolts, will be directing the X-Men film. The movie's release date places it as the third confirmed film for 2028, alongside Black Panther 3 and Ghost Rider. This initial cast announcement offers a first official look at Marvel's live-action X-Men, with further mutant additions expected in the future.
